Spiritual Care
Hybrid Evangelism
Someone within twenty minutes of your church is awake right now, carrying something heavy — a struggling marriage, a frightening diagnosis, a grief that never fully lifts, or a quiet hunger for something more. They are not ready to walk through a church door. But they might send a message to someone who genuinely asks how they can pray for them.
This course trains you to be the person who prays with them, becomes their friend, and walks with them on their spiritual journey.
Through fifteen lessons you will learn the heart and the practical skills of online spiritual care. You will discover how Hybrid Evangelism works through a simple prayer ad on social media and becomes a real relationship between a hurting person and a caring trained volunteer. You will learn how to write the first messages that make people feel heard, how to pray through text in ways that touches the heart, how to ask great questions and listen well through a screen, and how to handle difficult and confrontative conversations with grace.
You will also learn when to escalate to your pastor, how to invite contacts toward your church community at the right moment, and how to keep showing up faithfully even when contacts go quiet for a while.
No formal ministry training is required except for this and other potential in-person or zoom training. What is required is a willing heart, a growing faith, and a genuine desire to reflect the love of Christ to people who are searching.
The work is quiet. You will not always see the immediate fruit. But the people you serve are real, their needs are genuine and the God who sent them to you is more than able to work through your faithful presence in their lives.
This course will prepare you for an experience that few church members have ever had and will grow you spiritually in ways you never imagined. To be able to do ministry and one day see those fruits in eternity is worth the time invested. Let's get started.
